Highly Indy

The Highly Indy Project is another student run website for and by NYC teens! They were created in 2017 to be a space for high schoolers to share their uncensored, unfiltered, writing. In late July, AnnaBelle and Aisha, the website’s two co-editors, published an editorial about the NYC public school system and the website in it!

To join their team, or to write a single piece for them, head to their site and go to the contact page. There you’ll get all the instructions on how to submit a piece or a pitch, or how to join their staff as a writer or editor. Like with our website, the Highly Indy team stresses that you don’t have to be a perfect or really experienced writer to share your work with them! This opportunity is especially valuable to newer writers who want to practice writing opinion pieces or editorials. To learn more, head to their site, or go to our instagram and look at the latest post, where their editor in chief Proof Schubert Reed explains in more detail, or head to their site!

See you next week, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re interested in submitting an opportunity! It might even get featured as the next opportunity of the week!
